All Wheelers Off Road Club
Trail 613 (Divide Ridge) Run
July 3rd, 2005

Part 2

After lunch we headed down the steep hill into Louie Way Gap. We had to stop for a big group of quads coming up. After they passed we went on down to the bottom and crossed over Trail 608. This was the first time for me to get to 608. Last year the trail close to 608 had brush on it and wasn't hardly used. We turned onto an old forest road and didn't see that 613 went on. This year the trail has been traveled alot to trail 608. We thought we had it made to Jump Off Tower because the 613 went on. We were getting close. We climbed out of Louie Way Gap toward the tower. The trail started off nice. As the trail stopped climbing it started to slant. Side ways driving. We kept going for awhile until our quads were trying to flip off the trail.

We stopped and were off looking how we were going to turn the big quads around without flipping them when the brake gave way on Richard's quad. His quad role off the trail, flipped all the way over and got high centered on a log.

First we used Richard's come-a-long to pull his quad back over the log.

Next we drove my quad back a little and secured it to a tree. We used my quad's winch to pull Richard's quad op the hill.

We secured Richards quad to the tree mine was secured to. We backed my quad up and secured it to another tree. We used the winch on my quad to pull the front of Richard's quad around. We walked the three quads back down the trail a little ways and then rode down to the 613 - 608 crossing in Louie Way Gap. We were happy to make it back down alive.

We took a rest and then headed back up the other side of Louie Way Gap. On the way up we had to stop for two quads coming down. After climbing back up out of Louie Way Gap we stopped for a break at the place we ate lunch and talked to two more quad riders. We headed on up the 613. Here is a tree that could cause some problems with tall trucks.

We stopped for one last look down at Rimrock Lake.

We stopped for a view of the Yakima Valley.

We stopped at the Grey Rock Trail before heading back up the last leg of the 613 trail.

Back at Snow Cabin Camp Grounds. We went 34.7 miles on our quest.

We had a great time and plan to do the 613 Trail again. We will not try the side way driving part to Jump Off Tower. Maybe next time we could go to Long Lake.

This run is rated More to Most Difficult and is not for people with little or no experience.
